The Henty Man

Henty Man

The original 'Henty Man' was carved out of an old tree by Mr. Aubrey Prior who  in the early 30's saw a likeness of a man pointing the way to Henty. As he travelled between Henty and Culcairn he took every opportunity to improve the shape of the tree. With paint and some tin the man was completed. Unfortunately the original tree, was lost to fire. For Henty's Centenary celebrations in 1985, a similar shaped tree to the original was found and further shaped to suit the original stump.

It is now an RTA rest stop area with picnic tables, refuse bins and toilets.  The picnic grounds are well signposted in either direction along the Olympic Way between Culcairn and Henty.
