Henty Show 2017

Mark the date Saturday February 11 in your diary. It’s the Henty Show. The show promises to be a great day out for young and old.

As always the program will be jam-packed with activities and entertainment. Come enjoy the local community atmosphere and see all the old favourites such as the bush market stalls, children’s pet show, baby show and Miss Show Girl sashing, Henty Show and Shine and the sheaf-tossing competition. Wander through the main pavilion and marvel at the creativity of our school children, be inspired by the intricacy and detail of home-made articles of knitting, quilting and sewing, see amazing cakes, mouth-watering preserves and beautiful flowers and floral arrangements.

Enter the photography pavilion and view collections of photos by our local amateur photographers that will captivate and inspire. There will be show bags again this year, so kids, start saving your pocket money and for a gold coin donation you and/or your family can have your caricature drawn.
The Talent Quest will run again providing some great local entertainment and prize money for the talented winners. So don’t be shy, give it a go. If music isn’t your forte, then a Farmer’s Challenge may be more your style. Find three friends and form a team, and get ready to have some fun while performing some farming tasks. As in previous years, the Henty Show wants to have community involvement and to showcase art and craft in our community, so if you have crafted or created any items recently this can be your chance to show them off.
A subclass has been created solely for our senior citizens, including something made by a group. We look forward to seeing what they have made. Kids, the school holidays are the perfect time to create entries for the show.

There is a poetry and a creative writing competition for you to enter. Have fun creating your family from hard-boiled or blown eggs, create something from Lego and make something from recycled materials.
These are just a few of the many things you can enter. So, don’t forget to pick up a copy of the show schedule in the next couple of months and check out how you can be involved in the 2017 Henty Show.
The show committee meets on the first Monday of the month and welcomes new members. If you would like more information on how you can be involved with the show, please contact Kerry Small on 6929 3066 or hentyshow@gmail.com
