Henty Cricket Club

Henty Cricket Club

The Henty Cricket Club has two senior teams,(Division 1 and 2), two junior teams and Milo cricket for the younger members and competes in the Holbrook and Distrcit Cricket Association with the overall strength of the competition paramount for success on cricket in the region.

One of the most significant aspects of Henty's rise to cricket strength in the district was the installation of a watering system at the showgrounds in 1999. This enabled Henty to enjoy a green and watered oval, a far cry from the dry and dusty surrounds of previous years. This has proved to be a very important for the development of junior cricketers as it has encouraged young players to particiapte on a suface where sills can be developed from a young age.

During the celebration of 50 years of the Henty and District Cricket Club was the naming of the recently upgraded original oval at the golf course as the 'Paech Oval', after club legend Peter Paech. Jubilee booklets are available from the club.
